St. John's Reformed Church

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Christian Church has existed for many centuries and throughout that time it has produced many helpful and orthodox confessions, creeds and catechisms. We love and stand in general agreement with many of these historic documents, such as the Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed, Chalcedon Creeds, Athanasian Creed, Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, Second Helvetic Confession, Canons of Dort, and Westminster Standards.

As a church which stands in the Reformed Baptist tradition we adhere most closely to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith and have adopted this historic confession as the Statement of Faith of our church.

The church at that time also produced a catechism, named The Baptist Catechism, as a companion to the 1689 Confession and we use this catechism as a guide during times of catechizing and encourage families to use it as a guide in the discipleship of their kids during family worship.
